AI & Cloud Readiness
Assessment
Four questions about where your workloads run, what matters most in the next 12 months, how far along your AI and data strategy is, and how big your estate is. You see a readiness score and a recommended starting point straight away, before we ask for any contact details.
Takes about two minutes. Your score appears before we ask for anything. If you book a roadmap session, your answers go to the architect who prepares it.

What the four questions cover
Where your workloads run today
AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or an on-prem data centre. Select all that apply.
Your priority for the next 12 months
Migrate to the cloud, modernise on serverless, data and GenAI, or cost and reliability.
How far along your AI and data strategy is
No strategy yet, running pilots, or in production and scaling.
How big the estate is
1 to 25 workloads, 25 to 100, or more than 100.
What you get at the end
A readiness score and a maturity band, Foundational, Emerging or Scaling, with a few signals about your estate, such as a multi-cloud or hybrid setup, AI already in production, or enterprise scale. Then one recommended starting point:
Guided Cloud Migration
A landing-zone-first migration with a wave plan, so workloads move without surprises and your team keeps shipping.
About Cloud Migration →Serverless Modernization
Re-platform onto AWS-native serverless: managed compute, event-driven data, and far less to operate.
About Serverless Modernization →Data & GenAI Platform
A unified data foundation feeding production GenAI, from a partner holding the AWS AI Services Competency.
About Data & GenAI →Cost & Reliability Program
A FinOps and Well-Architected review that cuts spend and raises resilience across every account.
About Cost & FinOps →About the Well-Architected Framework Review →What your AI maturity band means
Your readiness score places you in one of three bands.
Foundational
Below 55No AI or data strategy in place yet, so there is room to plan the AI work and the cloud foundation together.
Emerging
55 to 74Usually AI pilots under way, or no AI strategy yet but a larger or multi-cloud estate to build on.
Scaling
75 and aboveAI already in production, or pilots running across more than one cloud.
Whatever your band, the recommended starting point follows the priority you pick in question two, and an architect can pressure-test both with you on a call.
Where those starting points have led

RewardsCo
AI in production on serverless: every recorded call is transcribed, analysed and scored automatically, moving QA from sampled manual review to 100% call coverage, with a 40% TCO reduction projected over three years against the previous vendor.

Afrocentric
A data foundation ready for analytics: an Apache Iceberg data lake on AWS cut data scanned per query by 96% and query time by 74%, with POPIA-aligned access controls on claims and member data.

Citrus Growers' Association
Migration and cost: a SQL database running from a local machine moved to Amazon RDS with automated backups, then right-sized after monitoring monthly use to save further costs.

What does the assessment ask?
Four questions: where your workloads run today (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or an on-prem data centre, select all that apply), your priority for the next 12 months, how far along your AI and data strategy is, and how many workloads you run.
How long does it take, and do I have to sign up?
About two minutes, and there is no signup. Your score and recommended starting point appear as soon as you answer the last question. We only ask for your name, work email and company if you choose to book a roadmap session.
What do I get at the end?
A readiness score, a maturity band (Foundational, Emerging or Scaling), a few signals about your estate, and one recommended starting point: Guided Cloud Migration, Serverless Modernization, Data & GenAI Platform, or a Cost & Reliability Program.
How is the score worked out?
From your four answers. How far along your AI work is carries the most weight, followed by whether you run more than one cloud, the size of your estate and your 12-month priority. Below 55 is Foundational, 55 to 74 is Emerging, and 75 and above is Scaling. It is a quick self-check rather than an audit, so an architect pressure-tests the result with you in the roadmap session.
Do we need an AI strategy before we start?
No. "No strategy yet" is one of the answers to the AI question, and the result still recommends a starting point. Many teams begin with the cloud foundation the AI work will sit on.
Is this the same as a full AI readiness assessment?
No. This is a two-minute self-check. Our Data & GenAI practice also runs a structured diagnostic across five dimensions: strategy and vision, data readiness, infrastructure, people and skills, and governance and ethics. It delivers a maturity report, a gap analysis and a phased AI roadmap. You can raise it in your roadmap session, or read what a technical readiness review looks at in Is your data actually ready for Amazon Bedrock?
What happens after I book a roadmap session?
A CloudZA architect reviews your assessment and reaches out within one business day to schedule the session. On the call they pressure-test the result with you and talk through where to start.
We run more than one cloud, or still have servers on-prem. Is it still useful?
Yes. The first question covers AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and on-prem together, and the result flags a multi-cloud or hybrid estate so the architect can take it into account.
What happens to my answers?
Your score is worked out on the page and shown before we ask for any contact details. If you book a roadmap session, your answers, score and recommended starting point are sent to CloudZA with your name, work email and company, so the architect can prepare.
